As a manufacturer of telecommunication and IT systems, Hitachi also supplies directional radio systems for the wireless transmission of voice, video and data information. All directional radio systems are approved by the federal telecommunications authorities (BZT) and conform to the international ETSI requirements. Optionally, they can be integrated into the customer's own management system via SNMP. Users therefore save the costs of public telecommunications and network lines as well as, where applicable, the laying and servicing of their own cables. Directional radio systems from Hitachi Kokusai Electric are characterised by very high availability under differing weather conditions, good interference immunity, extremely low-maintenance and long ranges (up to more than 20 km, sometimes up to 60 km depending on frequency). A wide selection of antennas is available for all currently used frequency bands. At the other end there are connections for E1/S2m, Ethernet and Fast Ethernet as well as ATM 155 Mbit/s depending on the model. Optionally, Hitachi Denshi also offers multiplexers with which voice and data can be transmitted together over one system. In addition, hopping solutions are also available with which passive diversion of the signals is possible "along the way". This is for the case where no line-of-sight link can be established between the transmitter and receiver stations. Frequencies for the European market: 23, 25 and 38 GHz; conversion to other frequency bands is possible on request. Bandwidths: 2 to 155 Mbit/s.
